Sundar Pichai became the CEO of Alphabet, Google’s parent company in Dec 2019. With this he is now CEO of Google and Alphabet both.
Salary of Sundar Pichai 2020: As per regulatory filing of Google, Sundar Pichai’s compensation during 2019 was $281 million majority of which includes stock awards. His annual salary is $ 650,000.
In July 2017, Sundar Pichai was named to Alphabet’s board of directors. Google founder and that time Alphabet CEO Larry Page said “Sundar has been doing a great job as Google’s CEO, driving strong growth, partnerships and tremendous product innovation. I really enjoy working with him and I’m excited that he is joining the Alphabet board.”

Early life of Sundar Pichai:
Born in Madurai, (a town in Tamilnadu state of India) in a middle class family. He lived in a two room apartment with his family of four includes his parents and younger brother. During his childhood friends, his family did not owned a car or a TV.
His mother was a stenographer. His father worked as an electrical engineer for a switchgear maker English Electric Co Ltd. His father introduced him to technology with his work life stories. His family had to wait for five years to get their first rotary telephone. This phone helped him to realized his talent for numerical recall. He could remember every number he dialed.
Education of Sundar Pichai:
Studied in a “Jawahar Vidyalaya” a CBSE school in Ashok Nagar, Chennai. According to a classmate, “Sundar was academically bright though he wasn’t the first in his class. He was always ranked third behind two girls, who took the first two ranks. He wasn’t very participative and kept to himself.”
He went to IIT Kharagpur to study metallurgical engineering. He once reveled that grade aren’t everything.
“I think I did get C sometime (when I was at IIT)… My first year CGP was so bad I had to work hard to make up for it for the next three years,” he had told young students.– Sundar Pichat while interaction with students in an event
Moving to US: After finishing IIT, he moved to Sanford University, US for MS study. Later he did his MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. While doing his MBA, He also worked with McKinsey.
Pichai joined Google in 2004. His phenomenal success came with Chrome project. Sundar Pichai and his team was instrumental in creating Google Chrome which is now world’s most used web browser.
Andriod: After Success of Google Chrome, Sundar Pichai started appearing more in Google’s media and developer events. He also started getting more responsibility. In 2013, he was given charge of running Android, world’s most popular mobile operating system.

Google CEO: In 2015 Sundar Pichai became the CEO of Google When company was restructured creating several different entities and putting all these entities under parent company Alphabet. Sundar was later added to the board of directors of Alphabet in 2017.
CEO of Alphabet: December 2019 marked another triumph in Sundar Pichai’s career when he was named as CEO for the parent company “Alphabet” with its founder Larry Page resigned from the post and giving charge to Sundar Pichai.
